Welcome

Checking us out? Welcome! Read on to get a little bit of a feel for what we’re like, how we do things, and what you might want to know before you make contact!

Who’s Welcome?

Everyone! Whether you’re new to Swedenborg, from another Christian denomination, or simply exploring spirituality, we’re here to connect you with a group or individuals who can meet you where you are on your journey.

Are We a Church?

We started as a traditional church, part of the New Church in Australia. Over time, we evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. Now, we’re a diverse community of individuals drawn together by our shared interest in Emanuel Swedenborg’s theology. While we have Christian roots, we embrace and respect various religious and spiritual paths. Learn more about us here.

What’s Our Focus?

Our interests vary. Some delve into Swedenborg’s insights on the Bible, while others explore his perspectives on the spiritual realm. Many of us reflect on behavior, emotions, and empathy in our daily lives. And some simply enjoy the camaraderie of fellow readers.

How Do We Connect?

We gather both in-person at our location (Check our event calendar for details: 3/20 Duerdin St, Clayton VIC 3168) and online (via Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom), welcoming locals, as well as friends from interstate and abroad. Our activities include Sunday services, Bible studies, small group collaborations, and social events. Currently, we’re in contact with over 100 individuals.

Parking Info?

We have six designated parking spaces in the Duerdin Street complex. Additional parking is available with permission in UNIT 2 spaces. Please refer to this photo or park on the street.

How Can You Reach Us?

Follow or contact us on Facebook or other social media platforms. You can also sign up to our newsletters for regular updates. Our spiritual leader, David Moffat, is always open to hearing from you!

Interested in Swedenborg?

A list of introductory and popular books may be found on Swedenborg.org. Many are available for free on PDF. We also hold physical copies at our library should you prefer a hard copy. You may also read more about Swedenborg on our 101 page. There are also some fantastic resources on the web such as the Off The Left Eye channel on Youtube, as well as some more links here.

Financial Contributions?

We leave it to individuals; there’s no obligation for members or visitors to contribute financially.

Membership Background?

Our community comprises both first-generation Swedenborgians and those with multi-generational ties to the New Church. It’s common to find members with connections to their birth religions as well.
