Using the Word more personally – Julian Duckworth

Over a number of years I’ve found myself more and more drawn to seeing and using the Word’s text more personally; in other words, relating what’s said to states I know I experience. In a word, it’s a more internal way. Sometimes it feels very direct; sometimes I get it by relating to the what the Word is saying and asking me. I think this ‘personal meaning’ is a natural follow-on from the more familiar spiritual meaning with its use of set teachings (and meanings!) and correspondences.

In the session I’ll cover this approach for a few minutes and then use a few really great examples where the Word speaks personally. Together we’ll use a short passage which I won’t reveal in advance and get what we get, and finally we’ll question and share on the whole approach, and check on ideas about how we can get going.
